Course Description
Available to DC residents and non-residents to conceal carry in the District of Columbia. Our Metropolitan Police Department /DC Concealed Carry Permit Training is a comprehensive training course covering D.C.-Specific Laws on Firearms & Self-Defense; Firearms Safety Training Course; Regulations governing concealed carry licenses; use of lethal force, prohibited areas, application process, suitability requirements and more. Students will leave the course with an understanding of carrying procedures both in and around the District of Columbia. This is an In-Person course that requires participants to attend the classroom and live-range COURSE AGENDA/LOCATIONS: DAY ONE: REPORT TO NATIONAL HARBOR CLASSROOM @ 7:00 AM National Harbor Location, 6710 Oxon Hill Rd Suite 210, National Harbor, MD 20745 COVID-19 Prescreening, Paperwork; Firearms Safety Briefing Classroom: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM DAY TWO - AM: REPORT to MSAR @ 7:00 AM Maryland Small Arms Range, Inc. 9801 Fallard Court, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 Range Safety Briefing: 7:15 AM Course of Fire Practice & Qual: 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM DAY TWO - PM: REPORT TO NATIONAL HARBOR CLASSROOM @ 10:00 AM Classroom: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Certificate Issued Lunch: 1:00 P.M. - 1:35 PM Ample Free Parking COURSE LENGTH: 16-Hour Classroom Training + 2-Hour Range Qualifications IN-CLASS LIMIT: 20 Students STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: · Students must bring a valid driver’s license or state issued ID to class with them for verification. · Students must arrive on time and be present for the entire duration of class. ON-SITE/COURSE POLICY No Ammunition, nor Firearms, including concealed firearms are allowed on this facility, nor into the classroom, without advance approval -- which is a strict training environment. When permitted to bring firearms to class, Repeating, Do Not Bring Ammunition to class. IMPORTANT. Federal firearm transport laws U.S. Code title 18, part I, chapter 44, 926A "interstate transportation of firearms” any person who is not otherwise prohibited from transporting, shipping or receiving a firearm shall be entitled to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose from any place where he/she may lawfully possess and carry such firearm IF, during such transportation, the firearm is unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle; provide, that in the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver’s compartment, the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console. All students will be required to read and sign a liability waiver prior to start of class, prior to the start of class for security reasons due to handling firearms. No Exceptions!
